He also joined the club in age nine. He played with 193 matches for South Melbourne at the National Soccer League. Ange Postecoglou started training South Melbourne from 1996 until 2000. He led his group to National Soccer League. In 1999 his group won the Oceania Club Championship which directed them to take part in the 2000 FIFA Club World Championship. In 2007 he had been substituted as a trainer after Australia failed to qualify for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. After departing the Australian youth group he was employed as a soccer pundit for Fox Sports. In addition, he functioned as an elite adviser to Football Federation Victoria.
