It ALMOST prevented me from going to the #essenceblackwomeninhollywood luncheon which I was beyond excited to be invited to. Well @kstew222 saw my post and reached out of her own circumstance with a word of kindness and love that made me feel worthy and blessed and caused me to embrace a much better idea of f&$k it! I put on a $40 dress that was hanging in my closet and I drove my b'hind to Beverly Hills…AND THANK GOD I did!!! I saw @danaigurira @tessamaethompson @tiffanyhaddish & @lenawaithe be honored and they gave amazing generous empassioned incredible rally cries of encouragment. They bestowed us all with love and kindness and charged the audience to go out into the world and "spread the Good News". To dispel the myth and lies told about Black women. To embody the truth about our power, kindness, beauty, excellence, resilience and sisterly cooperation. It was exactly what Kellee gave me. And then I was blessed to walk into a room full of women mirroring a macrocosm: raining those same virtues on each other. Man I am grateful! Thank you Kellee!!! And thank you to all my sistah's and everyone of you that showed up on my last post with words of support empathy and solutions! #blackgirlmagic ALL DAMN DAY!!!
