Lee started her career working in many restaurants and wine shops. In 2003, she helped to start Jeff and Eddy’s Restaurant where she functioned as the home fishmonger. In July 2005, Lee established the foodie site OliveAndPeach.com with spouse Aleishall Girard. Soon, her site led her into fame. She had been the first range of Top Chef. She was soon replaced. Lee afterwards returned as a guest judge at Best Chef All-Stars. Her first screenplay, The Comfort Table was released by Simon & Schuster. In 2009, Katie introduced her next job, The Comfort Table: Recipes for Everyday Occasions. In June 2011, Lee published her first publication titled Groundswell.
