Melissa was born on May 29, 1961 in Leavenworth, Kansas. Etheridge was the youngest of 2 children and was born to Elizabeth Williamson and John Etheridge. Her dad was a boxing teacher, advisor, and athletic director in her alma mater in Leavenworth High School and her mom was a computer consultant and an American Constitution instructor in Leavenworth High School. She has an elder sister. In a meeting, she said about her childhood and about growing up in a beautiful house, where her family provided little in the way of psychological support. Melissa attended David Brewer School that is situated at Osage and 17th Streets. She graduated in 1979 from Leavenworth High School (LHS) in 10th Avenue and Halderman. She was a part of the very first “Power and Life” musical/dance team at LHS. Then Etheridge moved to Boston in 1980 and attended the Berklee College of Music but following her third semesters, she made a decision to drop out because of which she couldn’t finish her research.

Melissa Etheridge: Career and Professional Life
Etheridge’s interest in music started early when she picked up her first guitar . She started to play all-men state music classes during her teenage years and moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music in age 18 to pursue her career in the discipline of music. Back in 1979, Etheridge recognized her fantasy of moving from Leavenworth to pursue a career in audio. So she moved to Boston to ensure she’d study music at the Berklee College of Music. After dropping out of school she moved to Los Angeles to try a career as a musician and began operating in the clubs across the city. Etheridge used to operate in a pub Named Vermie’s in Pasadena, CA. Etheridge also worked at the lesbian pubs around Los Angeles that resulted in her discovery by Island Records chief Chris Blackwell. Following that, she acquired a publishing deal to compose songs for films that includes “that the 1986 film Weeds”. Following that, she’s released a great deal of records for example “Yes I’m “, “Your Little Secret”, “Lucky”, “4th Street Feeling” and lots of. In 1993, she published her album called “Yes I’m ” that spent approximately 138 months on Billboard 200 graphs and “Come to My Window” and “that I ‘m the Only One” were struck at that period of time. The record “Breakdown” that premiered in October 1999 also appeared at 12 on the Billboard charts and spent 18 months on the charts. Later in 2004 she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and failed chemotherapy and surgery.
